Job Summary

We’re a leading independent investment management firm seeking a globally minded Data Scientist in our Hyderabad office to spearhead development and innovation within our AI team.

You will join a fast-paced agile development team building the latest in innovative and disruptive technologies for asset management leveraging the power of big data. In this position you’ll get to envision and develop cutting edge Financial Technologies (aka FinTech) that will contribute to innovation growth for Invesco and the greater financial ecosystem. Key Responsibilities / Duties

Act as subject matter expert for investments projects in the data science space
Perform machine learning/statistical analysis methods, such as deep learning, classification, collaborative filtering, association rules, sentiment analysis, topic modeling, time-series analysis, regression, statistical inference, & validation methods
Analyze and model structured data using advanced machine learning methods and implement algorithms and software needed to perform analyses
Build recommendation engines, sentiment analyzers and classifiers for unstructured and semi-structured data
Extend IVZ data with third party sources of information, as required
Process, cleanse, and verify the integrity of data used for analysis
Perform ad-hoc analysis and present results in a clear manner
Perform exploratory data analysis, generate and test working hypotheses, prepare and analyze historical data to identify patterns
Design rich data visualizations to communicate complex ideas to customers or company leaders

WORK EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE:

5+ years of experience in a role entailing quantitative research and analysis
4+ years of experience with machine learning
Financial services experience required either in Financial or Economic Analysis
Experience with deep learning, natural language processing
Knowledge of market microstructures and macroeconomic theories, econometric forecasting; capital markets and investments; risk & return; asset pricing, pricing models, and financial engineering; efficient market hypothesis, inefficient markets, and behavioral finance; portfolio theory; mathematics of high frequency finance and algorithmic trading desired
Excellent understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms, such as k-NN, Naive Bayes, SVM, Decision Forests, etc.
Excellent applied statistics skills, such as distributions, statistical testing, regression, etc.
Experience managing and manipulating large data sets
Extensive predictive analytics experience with Python or R
Experience with data and machine learning services using Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and / or Google Cloud
Agile (Scrum) experience a plus

Duties and responsibilities:

– They are looking for a Data Scientists to develop and enhance our fraud prediction models.

Preferred:

– You can scale offline models to the online world. You are able to aggregate, slice and dice large and wide data sets from public and customer sources to generate invaluable insights. You are obsessed over data cleanliness and canonicalization. You love to find data insights that solve critical problems in a complex data environment.

Qualifications & Experience:

– MS or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Operational Research, Statistics, Mathematics or another quantitative field of study

– 2-7 years experience in machine learning, statistics, or data mining

– Data analysis and exploration skills in R, Scala, Matlab, Excel, Weka and other tools

– Production experience in mix of: Java, C++, Python, Pig, Hive, SQL, Hadoop

– Knowledge of Javascript, jQuery, Tableau for a rich and interactive result visualization is a plus

– Interest in the latest techniques in feature representation and learning algorithms is a plus
